Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kurdish runner rugs from the early 1900s are hand-woven textiles created by nomadic and village weavers in the Kurdistan region across Northwestern Persia and Anatolia. They are characterised by robust wool construction, saturated natural dyes, and geometric medallion designs suited for long, narrow spaces.

These runners are hand-knotted using hand-spun sheep wool for both the pile and the warp and weft foundation. Weavers utilised symmetrical (Ghiordes) knots, creating a thick, durable pile dyed with vegetable-based pigments such as madder root and indigo.

Authentic antique tribal rugs exhibit slight asymmetry in pattern and dimension due to hand-weaving on portable looms. Examining the reverse side reveals clear knot structure without synthetic backing, alongside natural dye variation known as abrash.

A long tribal runner introduces color and texture to hallways, entryways, or narrow galley kitchens. The geometric motifs complement polished timber floorboards or neutral stone floors in both contemporary and period homes.

Vacuum regularly using suction only without a rotating beater bar to prevent fibre damage. Position a quality underlay beneath the rug to prevent slipping and uneven wear, and address spills immediately with cold water and clean cloth blotting.
