The scene depicts a stunning coastal landscape with the sun just going down behind the sea, shedding an oblique light across the waves, and casting the rocky shore in shade. There is great detail in a family group with a father appearing to be fishing off the rocks. The painting is in excellent untouched condition and is signed to the lower right G.Bartoli. The artist is likely to be Giuseppe Bartoli 1911-1980. The painted and gilded frame is the original and is in good condition with some minor repairs and losses.
