Khamseh rugs are hand-knotted tribal carpets woven by the nomadic Khamseh Confederation in South West Persia. They are recognized for their bold geometric patterns, diamond-shaped medallions, and stylized bird or animal motifs.

These rugs are crafted using hand-spun wool for both the pile and the underlying foundation (warp and weft). The yarns are dyed using natural vegetable and mineral dyes, producing deep indigo blues, terracotta reds, and ivory accents.

Authentic pieces feature a flexible wool warp and weft, slight weave variations typical of nomadic tribal looms, geometric field motifs, and natural colour variations known as abrash.
