We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George III period spanned from 1760 to 1820, characterised by a shift from heavy baroque influences to lighter, more neoclassical proportions, incorporating quality timber construction and refined brass hardware.

Authentic pieces typically feature solid native hardwoods such as oak or mahogany, joined using hand-cut dovetails on drawer boxes and pegged mortise and tenon frames.

Authenticity is determined by examining hand-sawn timber marks, irregular hand-cut dovetailing, original or period-appropriate brass handles with matching backplates, and natural patina accumulated through age.

Such foundational pieces add warmth and textural contrast when placed against neutral walls, paired with minimalist modern art or contemporary lighting to bridge historical and modern design elements.

Preserve antique wood by maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent fading, and periodically applying traditional beeswax to nourish and protect the finish.
