The English landscape oil painting depicts a rural valley, with two people picking flowers / fruit in a hedgerow, whilst a third person, who is standing near a fence look on, set in front of rolling hills in the background. The artist has a good way of depicting the natural colours of the landscape and trees. The timing of the day is emphasised by the pink on the mountains and the darkness of the foreground. The artist is unknown as the painting is not signed, but it is extremely well painted.
The English landscape oil painting has the skill to draw you in with its range of rustic colour hues and texture depicting the quintessential English rural country landscape scene, probable painted in late summer. The oil picture is framed in its original fabulous ornate gilt frame, which is in excellent condition.
Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique Edwardian English landscape oil painting, in its original gold leaf frame, in excellent original condition, circa 1910. The board is in excellent condition - the colours are strong and there is no sign of fading to the picture. The picture has been sympathetically cleaned and the frame has been re-gilded. Nominal old age marks to the leading edges of the gilt frame, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item. This English landscape oil painting is ready to hang.
