This is a good quality antique Victorian Persian Rug, measuring 5ft long by 3ft 2” wide, believed to be from the Heriz area in Persia, displaying mellow red, orange, yellow and brown colours, with a symmetrical patterned central field, circa 1890, in good original condition.

The natural hand-dyed sheep’s wool, was made by tribesmen and has been hand-spun before being constructed on a woven loom. The Persian Rug displays three borders, geometric in design, with a detailed symmetrical floral-patterned centre, flanked by a symmetrical pattern in each corner and finished with a small fringe to both ends.
