A very handsome large and robust Victorian cylinder roll-top pedestal desk of superb quality.
C.1860.

These sections with the original brass flush handles each lift to reveal three separate storage wells beneath. The centre section having easel adjustment to allow for several different heights.
To the back are ten pigeon hole compartments with ten mahogany drawers with turned handles below. Below these are ten matching faux drawers.

The top sits on two pedestals with an arrangement of six drawers. All mahogany lined and of dove-tail construction, with the original locks and escutcheons present.
The top left drawer has the original sellers paper label still in place. Reading "J Carter & Co 12 Lime Street E.C London. Established 1830. Office outfitters and decorators."

The mahogany has good rich figuring and even colour throughout, with a desirable characterful patina.
Dismantles into three sections, so extremely easy to manoeuver and get around any awkward corners.
In excellent antique condition. The top has historical marks and knocks to the edges, shown in the pictures, creating a lovely characterful historical used patina. The leather is newly fitted so is unused.

Very solid, strong and sturdy.
