Tall Antique Victorian Mahogany Chest of Drawers
This early 19th century Tall Antique Victorian Mahogany Chest of Drawers is one of the earliest examples of Maple and co furniture dating from ca. 1841. It is stamped J.Maple & Co 145 Tottenham Court Road, the very first shop John Maple opened. It has a beautifully figured top with rounded moulded corners above two over four graduating drawers with the original unusual turned handles. This fine Victorian antique chest of drawers has rounded corners, a moulded plinth and beautifully figured front. The Mahogany is a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of antique wood wax finishing.
