Antique campaign desks, like this stylish late 19th-century mahogany example, have become much sought after. This is partly due to their military past whether it is documented or imagined: not many pieces of furniture create as much discussion and intrigue as a campaign desk or chest. Also, their stylish, understated, and compact design sits perfectly within contemporary interiors. They are attractive, robust desks, designed for transportation around the globe. We have lovingly restored this seven-drawer desk to a high standard, however, we were careful not to remove its character. It still retains the all-important signs of past skirmishes. The inset drawer handles are all original, as are the four-lever security locks fitted to the drawers of each pedestal (working with two keys supplied).
