A superb antique bronze and marble sculputure group titled ''The Betrothal'' by Carl Kauba (1865-1922), circa 1890 in date.
The bronze features a classical youth placing a ring on the hand of a girl sitting on a stepped marble base, signed C KAUBA FECIT.
This high quality hot cast solid bronze was produced using the traditional ''lost wax'' process, otherwise known as the ''cire perdue'' method.
