Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the 19th century, bronze sculptures of female nudes were strongly influenced by Classical antiquity and French Academic art. Artists used figurative studies to demonstrate technical mastery of human anatomy, balance, and expression, often producing figures using lost-wax or sand-casting techniques.

These sculptures were created using molten copper alloys poured into detailed sand or lost-wax moulds. Once cooled, the bronze was hand-chased to refine surface details, treated with chemical compounds to create a patina, and securely mounted onto a turned marble or stone base.

Authentic pieces display detailed hand-chasing, precise anatomical proportioning, and a natural, chemically developed patina rather than surface paint. Collectors also look for structural weight, foundry marks, sculptor inscriptions, and period-appropriate mounting methods on the plinth.

A bronze sculpture functions as a focal point when placed on a fireplace mantelpiece, bookshelf, or sideboard. Positioning the figure against a neutral wall or near directional lighting emphasizes the metallic patina and dark contours of the bronze.

Dust the sculpture regularly with a clean, dry brush or lint-free cloth. To protect the patina from moisture and oxidation, apply a thin coat of microcrystalline wax occasionally, avoiding harsh chemicals, liquid cleaners, or abrasive polishes.
