Here we have this early 19thc 4 gallon copper harvest measure.
Antique large copper harvest measures with the square handle and the dog tooth seam.
Harvest jugs were used for many uses, sometimes grain and also for ale to take to the fields for workers during harvesting.
Usually these have lead customs seals on the spout to show that the measure was correct.
These jugs are wonderful in a room especially with oak and country furniture, the glow and warmth of the copper really shows up well and brightens an interior.
