Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A tazza is a shallow, wide dish elevated on a pedestal foot, used historically to display fruit or sweetmeats. During the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, copper tazzas were produced by hand using traditional coppersmithing techniques to emphasize texture and craftsmanship over mass production.

These vessels were typically wrought from sheet copper, shaped over wooden anvils or formers, and decorated using hand-hammering, chasing, and repousse techniques. Handles and bases were often riveted or hard-soldered onto the primary bowl structure.

Authentic period pieces display irregular hand-hammering marks, visible joins, and natural surface patination or oxidisation. Look for characteristic design elements such as stylized organic motifs, geometric rim stamping, and sturdy riveted handles rather than modern uniform machine stampings.

Position the piece as a central display object on a wooden sideboard, dining table, or console table. The warm tones of copper pair well with contemporary neutral palettes, dark hardwoods, and stone surfaces, serving as a functional vessel for fruit or a standalone accent.

Clean gently with a soft microfibre cloth and warm water containing mild detergent to remove dust. Avoid harsh chemical polishes or abrasive pads that remove the naturally aged patina, preserving the historical finish and oxidisation.
