Late 19th century Chinese bronze censer, c1890.Well cast and heavy for its size at just under 1kg it stands on 4 highly stylised legs in the form of Phoenix/mythical birds. The handles are also in the form of Phoenix/mythical birds with outstretched wings and large tail feathers and are very impressive. There is a central decorative panel on both sides of the body featuring deities floating on clouds. Overall condition is good, the handles swivel from the base but they appear to have been designed this way as there is no evidence of missing fixings?
