The wool quality is delightful, soft and velvety while the knot count and quality of the weave point to a superior weaving workshop. The pile is thin and fine which allows for a clearer definition of the design elements. The design of floral clusters is very decorative and typical of the 'American Sarouk' group. Note the harmonious colours especially the pink field, light blues, golds, oranges and sapphire blue border. It is a delightful piece which has survived the generations in very good original condition. Original sides and ends intact, good even pile throughout. Professionally washed in our workshop. A very decorative small rug which would work well in many settings.
