Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Victorian pine dresser base displays a warm brown finish across its solid timber construction. The Victorian Country design includes a single top drawer spanning the width, fitted with turned wooden knobs at each side and a central brass escutcheon above a keyhole. Below sits a pair of cupboard doors with arched recessed panels, complemented by small turned wooden knobs, original hinges, and another brass escutcheon on the right-hand door. The whole structure is elevated on four rounded bun feet and finished with neat edge mouldings along the top surface and upright stiles. Measuring 101 cm high, 96 cm wide, and 62 cm deep, this practical sideboard fits well in a rustic farmhouse kitchen, hallway, or living space as a functional storage unit and display surface for everyday household items.

FAQs

A Victorian pine dresser base is a functional 19th-century storage cabinet, originally designed for kitchen or dining room utility, featuring drawers set above an enclosed cupboard.

Pieces were crafted from solid softwood, often featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, tongue-and-groove panel backing, turned timber knobs, and stamped brass keyhole escutcheons.

Authentic period pieces display irregular hand-cut joinery, original turned feet or plinths, natural wood shrinkage across panel joins, and historic wear surrounding hardware.

A pine dresser base serves effectively as a hallway console, dining room sideboard, or bathroom vanity unit, adding natural timber texture alongside contemporary ceramics and neutral paint palettes.

Clear beeswax polish should be applied sparingly along the grain twice yearly to nourish the timber, while liquid spills should be blotted immediately with a dry cloth.
