Antique French Mahogany Writing Desk

1920 - 1940
Description

A beautifully designed and extremely well made antique French mahogany writing desk. This was made in France, it dates from around the 1930’s.

The quality is outstanding, this has beautiful ormolu mounts, intricate and high quality brass handles and a brass stretchered base. It sits on sabre shaped legs, and has dummy drawers on the back, so can be used as a free standing item. The inset leather top is hand coloured and gold tooled around the edges, the mahogany has a gorgeous colour tone and patina.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is superb for its age.

Width – 38 inches , 96 cm

Depth – 22 inches , 56 cm

Height – 29 inches , 73 cm

Knee height – 22.5 inches , 57 cm
