The original Heals trade button is inset in the top right-hand drawer of this stylish early 20th-century light oak pedestal desk However, this piece is so distinctive, it really doesn''t require a close examination. It has all the hallmarks of being by this celebrated London company - it is well-designed, nicely made, and even though it is nearing its 100th birthday, it is still as relevant today as it was when it was made. As you can see from the images, the desk has been restored to a high standard. The full leather hide writing surface has been hand-dyed and tooled to mimic the original, which was too worn to revive (image available). The locks have been serviced, and replacement keys cut so they can once again be operated.
