Description

A superb antique mahogany leather top desk in the Chippendale style. This was made in England,it dates from around the 1890-1900 period.

It is of incredibly fine quality, with lots of lovely features. The fronts are recessed with lovely bordered patterns, there is pierced fretwork beneath each corner. There are two drawers on one side, the other has a door with built in letter holders inside. The top edge is beautifully carved, the inset leather top has been hand coloured and gold tooled. The base has a nicely designed stretcher and the legs have intricate carving all the way down. The back is also beautifully finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.

We have just had this re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is excellent for its age. There is just some minor wear and patina beneath the polish here and there.
