Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The sideboard was developed in the late 18th century by prominent designers like Thomas Sheraton and George Hepplewhite, evolving from side tables and pedestals into a unified dining room storage unit.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid mahogany and pine secondary woods, featuring hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, brass hardware, and often intricate veneer work or stringing.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-correct joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, signs of age-appropriate oxidisation and wear on interior timbers, hand-forged or cast brass fixings, and natural timber shrinkage.

Pair the traditional wood tones with contemporary lighting, abstract art, or minimalist ceramics to create a balanced contrast between historic craftsmanship and modern design.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels, keep the timber away from direct heat sources and sunlight, and periodically nourish the wood with traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone polishes.
