We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Nineteenth-century statuary marble figures are carved sculptures reflecting neoclassical or romantic artistic traditions, often produced in European workshops using fine-grained quarried marble.

These sculptures were traditionally hand-carved from solid blocks of statuary grade marble using chisels, rasps, and abrasive stones to achieve fine surface details and drapery.

Authenticity is identified through natural weathering patterns, tool marks appropriate to the period, crystalline structure changes over time, and historical provenance or signature markings.

Positioning the sculpture as a focal point in a minimalist room or against a dark accent wall provides a strong contrast that highlights its sculptural form and material texture.

Maintain the surface by dusting gently with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaners, chemical solvents, and exposure to excessive moisture or direct sunlight.
