The pile is thin and clipped low which gives the design great clarity and definition. Note also the beautiful wide ivory border which would make this a suitable item to be placed under a table. The size is interesting too, as it is slightly bigger than a rug and slightly smaller than a carpet. Dating to the early part of the 20th century, this lovely rug has survived in very good usable condition.
