This pair of Regency teacups and saucers originates from the nineteenth century, dating from around 1810 during the first period of Minton production. The set is formed from white porcelain finished with gilded edges and gold rims. Each piece features hand-painted polychrome English landscape vignettes enclosed within gilded circular borders, accompanied by delicate gold botanical motifs scattered across the white glaze and a handle attached to the side of each cup. Signs of age include rubbing to the gilding and a faint hairline crack to the rim of one saucer. Each cup measures 6.5 cm high and 10 cm wide including the handle. In a contemporary home, these decorative items are suited for display on a sideboard top in a living room, dining room, or cabinet collection. They serve as historical porcelain pieces for a collector or as display items within a traditional interior setting.

First Period Minton porcelain refers to production from the Minton factory in Stoke-on-Trent between approximately 1796 and 1816. Wares from this era are characterised by Regency design influences, soft-paste porcelain or early bone china compositions, and hand-painted decorative vignettes framed by fine gilding.

Early 19th-century English teaware was crafted from translucent bone china or soft-paste porcelain. Decorative elements were applied using overglaze enamel paints for detailed landscapes, finished with burnished gold leaf gilding along rims, borders, and handles.

Authentic Regency pieces often feature specific pattern numbers painted on the underside, such as Pattern No 58, rather than printed factory trademarks. Identification relies on recognising period shapes, hand-painted artwork variations, and characteristic wear patterns on the glaze and gilding.

Antique teacups and saucers can be arranged inside a glass-fronted display cabinet, showcased on open shelving, or placed on a sideboard top alongside contemporary art objects to create an eclectic focal point.

Antique porcelain decorated with overglaze enamel and gilding should be hand washed gently using warm water and a mild liquid detergent. Dishwashers, abrasive sponges, and harsh chemicals must be avoided to prevent surface scratching and the loss of gold leaf detailing.
