This mid-century modern men's wristwatch dates from the 1960 period and originates from Switzerland. The piece is formed from stainless steel, paired with a dark green leather strap featuring matching green double stitching along its length. The round face displays a silver sunburst dial detailed with gold baton hour indices, slim matching gold hands, and a sweep central seconds hand. Text reads Omega Automatic above the center and Seamaster near the bottom. The silver-coloured case has straight lugs and a small ridged crown set on the right side. The watch case measures 35 cm in diameter excluding the crown. Suitable for daily wear, this classic accessory brings a refined touch to formal or business attire when fastened to the wrist. The clean lines and neutral metallic tones make it a versatile addition to any collection of vintage timepieces. The dark green strap provides a contrasting splash of colour against the bright metallic finish of the round housing.

Introduced in 1948, the Omega Seamaster was originally developed as a durable, water-resistant timepiece derived from watches supplied to the British military during the Second World War. Over subsequent decades, it evolved into an icon of Swiss horology, combining functional engineering with refined dress-watch aesthetics.

Mid-century Swiss wristwatches typically feature stainless steel or gold-plated cases, acrylic crystals, and metallic dials with applied hour markers. Mechanical movements from this era utilise brass components with synthetic rubies functioning as jewel bearings to minimise friction.

Authentic timepieces generally feature signed crowns with the brand logo, accurate reference numbers stamped inside the case back, and calibre markings on the movement. Dial typography should show crisp, precise printing consistent with historical factory specifications.

A mid-century wristwatch integrates seamlessly into modern attire, contrasting well with formal suiting as well as smart-casual wear. Pairing the watch head with a contemporary leather strap in complementary tones bridges classic design with modern personal style.

Mechanical watches require professional servicing every three to five years to refresh internal lubricants and inspect mechanical wear. Exposure to water, strong magnetic fields, and direct physical shock should be avoided to preserve movement functionality and casing condition.
