This Edwardian decorative vessel set comprises a Chinese Qing Dynasty style cloisonné enamel ewer accompanied by four matching small stem cups. The ensemble uses brass, copper, and blue enamel, decorated with floral cartouches, lotus scrolls, curved handles, and stem pedestals. The ewer displays an elongated spout with branch-like detailing, a bulbous body set on a flared pedestal base, a handle with elaborate scrollwork, and a domed lid topped with a spherical finial. The four smaller vessels stand on slender stems leading to flared pedestal bases, echoing the design motifs of the central ewer. The ewer measures 27 cm high, 20 cm wide, and 11 cm deep. Placed on a sideboard top, this maximalist wonderland set provides an eye-catching display for formal dining rooms or living areas, bringing vibrant colour and traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary home.

Cloisonne is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects using vitreous enamel held in place by raised copper or brass wire strips, known as cloisons, soldered onto the metal body.

These vessels are crafted with a shaped brass or copper base, onto which wire motifs are soldered to form cells that are filled with enamel paste and fired repeatedly before polishing smooth.

Authentic cloisonne items usually display minute surface pitting from historical firing processes, fine hand-formed wirework, and subtle patination on exposed metal edges and unglazed base rims.

A cloisonne set can be displayed on a sideboard top, inside a glass cabinet, or positioned on a bar cart to introduce intricate detail and contrasting colour into contemporary spaces.

Clean cloisonne using a soft, dry lint-free cloth, avoiding liquid immersion, harsh chemicals, or sudden temperature shifts that could cause thermal shock and crack the vitreous enamel.
