We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Regency style, spanning the early 19th century in Britain, was heavily influenced by neoclassical architecture and Greco-Roman motifs, transitioning from heavier Georgian forms to cleaner, more restrained lines.

Traditional chests were constructed from native or imported timbers such as pine, oak, and mahogany, utilizing hand-cut dovetail joints for drawer construction and pegged frames for structural stability.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage, original backboards, tool marks, and the presence of period-appropriate fixings and historical surface wear.

An antique painted piece provides a focal point and texture contrast when placed against neutral modern walls, serving as a functional storage unit in bedrooms, hallways, or living spaces.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity and temperature levels, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent paint fading, and cleaning only with a dry, soft cloth while avoiding harsh chemical polishes.
