FAQs

Iron and brass beds gained popularity in Europe during the 19th century as manufacturing techniques advanced, offering a hygienic and durable alternative to traditional wooden frames.

These beds typically combine cast and wrought iron for the main structural framework, complemented by brass finials, rails, and decorative castings.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-poured iron joints, natural brass components with genuine patina, and standard historical sizing that differs from modern mattress dimensions.

Pairing the metallic frame with soft, neutral linens and contemporary textiles creates a balanced aesthetic that highlights the historical character of the piece.

Dust regularly with a dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners that can strip the protective lacquer or damage the aged metal surfaces.
