The animalier movement arose in 19th-century France, focusing on the realistic and dynamic depiction of animals in sculpture and painting.

These sculptures were typically cast using the traditional lost-wax method and featured a dark patinated bronze alloy.

Authentic pieces generally display deep patination, fine chiselling details, foundry marks, and artist signatures cast directly into the base.

Place the sculpture on a bookshelf, desk, or mantelpiece to add sculptural weight and a classical touch to contemporary spaces.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid chemical cleaners or excessive handling to preserve the original patina.
