Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Meiji period bronze sculptures refer to metalwork pieces crafted in Japan between 1868 and 1912, a time when Japanese metalworkers achieved international acclaim for their hyper-realistic casting techniques.

These pieces were typically cast using the lost-wax method from high-grade copper alloys, often featuring intricate hand-chased surface details and custom chemical patination.

Authentic pieces generally display precise, lifelike anatomical detailing, naturalistic patination, and frequently bear signature plaques, artist seals, or incised maker marks on the underside.

Such sculptural objects add texture and historical contrast when displayed on bookshelves, sideboards, or desks, serving as focal points within curated interior schemes.

Bronze objects should be kept away from direct sunlight and high humidity, dusting gently with a soft, dry cloth without applying modern chemical polishes that can damage the original patina.
