Description

All annotated with titles and section numbers verso.

24cm high x 30cm wide (not including the frame)

I don't know whether these designs were executed. Harry Noon built the first swimming pool in the colony as part of The Salisbury Hotel and later Westwood Park and Nyali Beach Hotel, so perhaps it was for one of these.

Provenance: Acquired directly from the artist's familly.

Artwork from the 1930s often reflects a blend of traditional illustrative techniques and early modernist influences, frequently focusing on decorative motifs and narrative themes.

These pieces typically utilise pigment-based watercolours on heavy-weight paper or card stock, often housed in period wooden frames with glass protection.

Authenticity is assessed through paper ageing characteristics, ink or watercolour bleed patterns, artist signatures, framing construction, and historical provenance documentation.

Pairing historical pieces with minimalist frames and neutral walls allows the artworks colour palette and subject matter to serve as a focal point without overwhelming the space.

Preservation requires mounting with acid-free materials, displaying away from direct sunlight to prevent fading, and maintaining stable indoor humidity levels.
