During the Victorian era, advancements in industrial manufacturing allowed for the mass production of metal bedframes, offering a more hygienic and durable alternative to traditional wooden beds while retaining ornate aesthetic appeal.

These frames typically combine cast iron for structural stability with brass fittings, finials, and detailing, often assembled using dovetail joints or heavy-duty iron wedges to ensure stability.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-poured iron castings, genuine brass components with appropriate age patination, and construction methods distinct from modern tubular steel reproductions.

Pairing the metal frame with minimalist, neutral linens and contemporary lighting creates a balanced contrast that highlights the industrial craftsmanship without overwhelming the room.

Maintenance involves dusting with a dry microfiber cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners that can strip the patina, and periodically checking and tightening structural joints.
