FAQs

Art Deco animalier bronzes gained immense popularity during the 1920s and 1930s, reflecting a fascination with sleek motion, exotic wildlife, and streamlined modernism in European art.

These pieces are typically cast in bronze using the lost-wax method, often mounted upon contrasting heavy bases made of marble or slate.

Authentic period pieces usually exhibit fine foundry marks, natural patination consistent with age, crisp anatomical detailing, and heavy, solid construction rather than hollow lightweight plating.

Place the sculpture on a clean-lined surface such as a mantelpiece, sideboard, or executive desk to create a strong focal point that contrasts with minimalist modern furnishings.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and apply a microcrystalline wax sparingly to the bronze surface periodically to protect the patina, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners.
