A lovely antique Chanteh woven by the nomadic Qashqai tribe circa 1920 with a Soumakh weave on the front and kilim back. The design features a simple terracotta medallion surrounded by an attractive camel border. These small vanity bags were woven by the women of the tribe and would have been used to keep valuable items such as jewellery or money. These antique Chantehs have become very hard to find and are highly collectible.
Size: 0.17m x 0.19m (6in x 7in)
This Chanteh is in good condition with very light, age related wear. No holes or repairs.
