FAQs

Nineteenth-century chests typically exhibit classical proportions and clean lines, often drawing influence from Georgian and Victorian design principles with a focus on functional elegance.

These pieces were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers applied to secondary timbers like oak or pine, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawer construction.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage patterns, original brass hardware, and secondary woods consistent with nineteenth-century cabinet-making techniques.

Pairing this traditional wooden piece with modern minimalist decor creates a balanced aesthetic, allowing the rich grain and historical character to serve as a focal point.

Maintain the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and periodically apply natural beeswax to nourish the finish without using harsh chemical polishes.
