Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. FAQs

The George III period, spanning from 1760 to 1820, is characterised by neoclassical influences, refined proportions, high-quality timber selection such as mahogany, and sophisticated decorative techniques like stringing and marquetry.

Cabinet makers predominantly used solid mahogany and pine as a secondary wood, enhanced by veneers, boxwood stringing, ebony inlay, and cast brass handles, drawer pulls, and galleries.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints in the drawer construction, secondary timbers like oak or pine on drawer linings, hand-turned or tapered legs, and natural age-related patina on the wood finish.

Pairing a formal period sideboard with modern minimalist decor, abstract art, or contemporary lighting creates a balanced juxtaposition that highlights the craftsmanship of the antique piece.

Maintain antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the finish.
