Old South Caucasian Kurdish rug with colourful diagonal stripe design.

Circa 1930.

This is an interesting rug with a design to the field and borders that is associated with rugs from the Gendje region of the south Caucasus. The rug clearly has the weave and handle of a Kurdish village weaving.

The rug is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and full pile, this is a thick heavy rug that is very durable.

Hand washed and ready for use or display, the rug is suitable for heavy domestic use.
