This wonderful 19th Century impressionist study of clouds and light makes you feel as if you were right there on the beach with the artist. Certainly painted in plein air, on the motif in circa 1880 the sea and the surf are almost hypnotic.

French in origin and of excellent quality, our oil on canvas is unsigned, and I have no indication as to its author. Measuring 17.5 x 27cm for the canvas alone, the overall size in a quality wood carved period frame is 27.5 x 38.5 cm
