Antique Tafresh Village Rug with Superb Colour, Circa 1920.

Description

Size: 6ft 7in x 4ft 3in (200 x 130cm).

A good example of a North West Persian Tafresh village rug from the Greater Hamadan Region.

Circa 1920.

The rug is of the traditional medallion design associated with Tafresh village. The rug has a well-drawn floral design and superb colour, the madder red and soft indigo blue complement each other very well. The ivory ground border picks up the colour of the small ivory central medallion.

The rug is in good condition with slight even wear and good pile. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
