French Antique Warehouse has dated this piece to the 1900s.
Elaborate brass drawer furniture complements the deep colour of the wood. The central drawer has a lock and key and is sprung when unlocked. When it is closed it activates a mechanism which keeps the other drawers locked. One of the drawers on the right pedestal contains a sectional tray which lifts out to reveal a lockable internal box.

This is a good quality piece of furniture and will be a handsome addition to an office, either in a domestic or professional setting. It has a lovely decorative panelled back allowing for it to be centrally located in a room rather than against a wall.

Dating to circa 1900, this is a mahogany item originating from France.
The gilt tooled green leather is in good condition, with minor scuffs and one ring mark, but without any tears. The locking mechanism is in generally good working order and the keys are available for the main drawer lock and the internal drawer box. Some of the drawers are a little stiff to open, but this will ease with use; the top left drawer does not lock into place properly. Some of the drawers have internal ink stains, adding to the character of the piece.
