Walnut Slope Top Pedestal Desk C.1890

19th century
Description

Large late 19th.c. slope top clerk's desk in walnut c.1890. The top with two small banks of drawers (held closed with hinged and lockable pilasters) either side of an open shelf. Over a writing slope and flat sides each with a red leather skiver. Plus three drawers below. Raised on twin pedestals each with three drawers of graduated height either side of a good sized kneehole (22" x 27"). Solid walnut drawer fronts each retaining the original brass handles and escutcheons. Moulded plinth with castors below. Very condition, fitted with new skivers, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied to work all the drawers.
