Arts and crafts club fender circa 1900, made to fit a large fireplace and wide enough to sit on by the fire to get warm. Very solid made from thick planks of oak with square stepped uprights for support, very well figured oak with visable joints as you would expect from a piece of arts and crafts furniture of this period
