Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Jaf Kurd weaving originates from the nomadic Jaf tribe inhabiting the border regions of western Iran and Iraq. Their textiles are renowned for bold geometric diamond lattice patterns filled with stylized latch-hook motifs, saturated saturated natural colours, and robust wool construction.

These bags are constructed using hand-spun wool yarns dyed with natural plant and mineral extracts. The face is hand-knotted with a medium-to-long pile using symmetrical or asymmetrical knots, while the reverse is woven in a durable flat-weave plain kilim technique with horizontal striping.

Authentic 19th-century tribal bags feature hand-spun wool with natural abrash dye variations, soft flexible handle, authentic edge finishings, and complete flat-woven backings. Modern reproductions often use synthetic dyes, machine-spun yarn, and lack structural wear consistent with historic nomadic utility.

An antique tribal bag can be wall-mounted on a narrow wall or inside an alcove as a framed textile art piece. It can also be stuffed with a firm cushion insert and displayed on an armchair, sofa, or bench as a textured accent.

Keep antique wool weaving away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading. Clean exclusively using dry, gentle suction with a soft brush attachment, and store flat in breathable cotton covers away from damp environments and wool-damaging insects.
