Here we have a wonderful rare burr and Pollard Oak three part twin pedestal Victorian desk c1860. As you can see the desk has great colour and patina. The top has a beautiful polished leather skiver with a tooled and gilded edge. There is a crossbanded Oak edge and Ebonised thumb moulding. There are further Ebonised mouldings to the edge of the drawers, bottom of the plinths and on the edge of the fielded panels. The Ebonised finish is also replicated on the bun feet and turned wooden handles. This fine quality desk has stunning burr and pollard Oak drawer fronts and solid Mahogany linings including bases and dust beads. There is a configuration of 9 drawers to the front and the rear has three faux drawers and two cupboards so the desk could be stood in the middle of the room. The dimenions are approx 130 cm wide 69 cm deep and 79 cm high.
