Here we have the finest of Victorian Burr Walnut Davenport desks c1860. As you can see the Davenport has outstanding colour and patina. The Burr Walnut is a lovely and rare tight grain. There is a peirced brass gallery to the top. This section pops up with a button from the inside of an internal drawer. This section has internal pigeon holes and a fine fretwork internal gallery. There is a fine curved piano top which lifts to reveal a pull out leather topped slide working surface. This can be lifted to work at an angle. There are side drawers and dummy drawers to the other side. The drawers are all solid Mahogany lined and have hand cut dovetail joints. The rear, sides and front are all finished with beautiful burr Walnut and there are carved embellishments and turned feet with original casters. A stunning fine period Burr Walnut davenport in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 97 cm high 57 cm wide 57 cm deep.
