A highly unusual and original oak roll top desk from the Edwardian period. The central worktop section swivels and turns to reveal a purpose built compartment for your typewriter. When closed it offers up as a normal flat desk top work surface. The rest of the interior is a very good selection of drawer, pigeon holes and pen slides. All the exterior to the desk are fielded which nearly always equates to superior quality and the whole of the finish has been sympathetically restored to it''s now super condition. When the tambour (roll) is down it automatically locks all the side drawers including the double file drawer to the bottom right. The lock is working and we have provided a spare key. In the main roll top desks can have one major problem, that being the deterioration of the linen backed tambour.
