Beautifully cast late 18th century table bell,c1790. Cast in bell metal/bronze it is heavy for its size at almost 1 kg and bears the makers name 'R Wells'. Robert Wells was one of the Countries most famous bell makers in the 18th /19th century making church , hand and crotal bells . His fame spread worldwide and there is a large display of Wells bells in Swan Tower, Perth Australia. Overall condition is good ,the bell has great tone , rings well and the metal has taken on great colour/patina.
