Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

British sporting prints gained widespread popularity as visual records of field sports, country leisure, and equestrian activities. Artists such as Charles Snaffles Johnson Payne gained prominence during the early 20th century by capturing the atmosphere of hunt meetings and racecourses through characterful illustrated prints.

These prints were typically produced on heavy paper stock using lithographic or gravure printing methods. Colour plates were printed alongside monochromatic blind-stamped borders or remarqued sketches in the lower margins, then mounted and framed under glass for protection.

Authentic period prints often feature publisher embossed blind stamps, pencil signatures, or integrated remarque sketches in the lower margin. Paper age can be confirmed by examining foxing, subtle tone variation, and impression marks around the image plate.

Sporting prints can be hung symmetrically in pairs or as part of a gallery wall in hallways, studies, or dining rooms. Combining traditional subject matter with modern or classic timber frames allows them to fit into both contemporary and period properties.

Paper prints should be kept away from direct sunlight, extreme humidity, and heat sources to prevent fading and paper degradation. Using acid-free mounting materials and UV-protective glass helps preserve paper integrity and prevent discolouration over time.
