An antique Chinese, Art Deco period, handwoven, sculpted monochrome red carpet, Circa 1920. A single colour red carpet with sculpted floral details. This rug has a very deep, densely knotted, soft pile, making the rug considerably heavy, with selvages and long fringes at both ends. Wool pile and cotton foundations. Very heavy for its size.This a high quality and attractive period carpet.Dimensions:This rug measures approximately 376 cm long including the fringes, and 276 cm wide.Condition:Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This rug is in a reasonably good condition overall commensurate with its age. There is a little wear to the pile but quite even. Odd minor marks and blemishes. Would benefit from a good vacuum once in situ, and possibly a gentle clean.
