Here we have a stunning Victorian Kidney shaped desk by Edawrds and Roberts c1870. As you can see the desk has outstanding colour and patina. This could be one of the finest pieces of furniture from this famous cabinet maker of the 19th Century. The firm of Edwards and Roberts were renowned for their extensive use of inlay and this desk is no exception. There is a kidney shaped top with a beautiful tooled and gilded leather skiver. The shallow border has chequered inlay and linked foliage. There is stunning inlay to the drawer fronts which have the original brass handles. The middle drawer is stamped Edwards and Roberts. There are even inlaid panels to the kneehole and the rear is again finished with inlaid panels to allow the desk to stand in the middle of a room. This exhibition quality desk is in fantastic retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 130 cm wide 76 cm high 70 cm deep.
