An excellent quality, 19th Century French ormolu-mounted mahogany bureau plat. Having an aged, tooled leather top with brass border edge. To the front are three drawers with ebony banding and decorative ebony banded corner brackets. Having pull out slides to either end, with tooled leather surfaces. The side panels also have ebony banding. Supported by four fluted legs adorned with gilt bronze Corinthian tops and ribbon decoration.
An impressive desk that is finished all round, so can be free standing.
